Episode 305

With two kids under the age of ten, Jaime and Kyle Ferguson are drawn to the good schools and spacious lots in the area of McGregor, Texas. They are looking for a house with four bedrooms, an open kitchen, and lots of trees, and hope that Chip and Joanna can help them find the perfect fit. Their budget of $450,000 allows them a lot of flexibility for renovations, so Chip and Joanna take them on a tour of three houses in the area that couldn't be more different. The first stop on their tour is a large ranch-style home Chip calls the 'House in the Woods.' The next house feels like a step backward in time. Nicknamed the 'Wild West House,' it is a unique Victorian-style house said to be owned by a banker in the late 1800s. The last house they visit is a large, modern-style ranch nicknamed the 'Cliff House.'

Moving from California, Ben and Stacie are looking for a home in Waco to not only be near their kids, but also give their daughters a place to escape the rigors of campus life. With an all-in budget of $175,000, the Childers would like to find a three-bedroom, two-bath house full of original detailing and shiplap. The first house they visit, Chip names the 'Beanstalk Bungalow' after the large seedpods that dangle from the catalpa tree in front of the house. Next, they tour the 'Doll House.' Very small and quaint, it lives up to its name. Last, they visit the 'Christmas Craftsman,' which Chip and Jo name after the green trim and red accents on the exterior of the house.
