Amy and her crew agree to a huge kitchen and family room reno that requires them to invent new ways to work fast. Homeowner Sara wants Amy to surprise her husband, Nate, with a reno because he had to give up his restaurant when they moved to a new city for Sara's job. Since then, Sara has always dreamed of giving Nate the chef's kitchen he deserves. But with only six hours for such a massive overhaul, the crew has to work smart and fast. Sara recruited a friend to act as the spy, and help Amy keep the couple away from the home. And while Amy thought the size of the makeover was going to be the biggest obstacle to completion, it turns out the spy becomes the issue, leaving everyone wondering whether they can finish remodeling the beautiful new kitchen and great room.

After living in remote South Africa, Shaun and Carol went back on the grid and fixed up a traditional Queenslander on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Ryan and Lauren are young, free spirits who abandoned their cars in the LA rush hour traffic to build a serene, oceanfront bed and breakfast off the beaten path in Bocas Del Toro, Panama.

The first stop on their tour is a large ranch-style home Chip calls the 'House in the Woods.' The next house feels like a step backward in time. Episode 306

For the first time ever on Fixer Upper, the tables are turned for Chip and Joanna. Instead of taking potential homebuyers on a tour of houses, this time it's the clients who are showing them a house. Sterling and Casey Zan inherited a 2,000 acre ranch from Sterling's grandfather, who she affectionately calls "Paw Paw." When he passed away, his house sat abandoned on a beautiful corner of the lot for almost ten years. Sterling has a lot of fond memories of the place, and hopes Chip and Joanna can restore it to its former glory. Chip warns her that the house is in serious disrepair and would need a hefty amount of work. While they have $160,000 in their budget to work with, the list of damage is lengthy and they would have to carefully prioritize fixing up the areas that need it most. Chip also knows of other rural properties in better shape that the Zans might be interested in, but he lets them consider their options before they make a decision.
