The couple started their life together in a tiny town, which was Justin's preference. Then after starting a family, he conceded and moved his family to Waco. The Reeds have a generous budget of $450,000 allowing them lots of options to satisfy both their tastes. They're looking for a 4-bedroom, 4-bath house with a big kitchen, an open living area, a front porch and a nice play area for their two daughters.

Episode 303

Baylor University graduates Chip and Joanna Gaines meet with two other Baylor alumni, Lori and Baron Craft, to tour three different houses in Waco. The Crafts live in Houston, but are looking to purchase a second home near the university in hopes that their 12-year-old son will one day live in the house and continue the family's Baylor legacy. With a budget of $160,000, Baron and Lori are looking for a three-bedroom house full of Old Waco character. The first house they visit, the Brick House, has an awkward closed-in porch in front that looks like it belongs in the back of the house. Inside, however, the house has a lot of old character and built-in detail that holds a lot of potential. The next house they tour is the Power House in one of the most historical neighborhoods in Waco. While the house has a lot of vintage charm and a huge backyard, the house would need all new electrical wiring, which means a lot more work. Is the character of the Power House worth the amount of renovation it requires? The Black and White House is the last stop on the Craft's tour. It lacks some of the character of the other two houses, but with beautiful hardwood floors and a cute layout on the inside, Joanna assures the Crafts that their budget is more than enough to transform the space into the house of their dreams. The Crafts face a tough decision: Which house will become their new home away from home?

With two kids under the age of ten, Jaime and Kyle Ferguson are drawn to the good schools and spacious lots in the area of McGregor, Texas. They are looking for a house with four bedrooms, an open kitchen, and lots of trees, and hope that Chip and Joanna can help them find the perfect fit. Their budget of $450,000 allows them a lot of flexibility for renovations, so Chip and Joanna take them on a tour of three houses in the area that couldn't be more different. The first stop on their tour is a large ranch-style home Chip calls the 'House in the Woods.' The next house feels like a step backward in time. Nicknamed the 'Wild West House,' it is a unique Victorian-style house said to be owned by a banker in the late 1800s. The last house they visit is a large, modern-style ranch nicknamed the 'Cliff House.'

Ken and Kelly Downs are a recently wed couple looking for a home they can both call their own. They've outgrown Ken's small bachelor pad and hope to find a place that reflects both of their individual styles. With a budget of $250,000 in Waco, Texas, they are looking for a home with wood floors, an open kitchen, and his and hers office space. The first house they visit is the "Chalk Ranch House," named after the large chalkboard wall in one of the bedrooms. Kelly isn't a fan of the brick exterior, but she agrees that a little paint would be a great improvement. The second house, the "Cutie Tudor," is quaint and only needs relatively few updates. It already has a layout convenient for a large master suite, but the biggest project would be renovating the kitchen. The last house is a wild card that Chip throws into the mix. He calls it the "Three Little Pigs House" because it seems so old and weathered, a stiff wind could blow it down like the wolf in the children's folk tale.

Chris and Lindy Ermoian feel like nomads - after living in five homes in six years, they are more than ready to settle down into a forever home. They like the Hewitt area of Texas because of its close proximity to jobs and family. With a total budget of $237,000, Chris and Lindy hope to find a 3-4 bedroom house with an open floorplan, a "man cave" for Chris, a nice yard for their dogs, and a relaxing, coastal style for Lindy. The first house they visit Chip calls the "All American Ranch" because of it's colonial style exterior. The second home Chip nicknames "The Green Mile," for the expansive yard and long driveway leading up to the house. Last, they tour "The Wood House." The carpet inside has a bad odor, and an awkward pony wall closes off the front entry.
