Strict Standards

Jonathan and Drew are determined to transform the couples’ new house into a place they’re proud to call home. But with Bliss’ high-expectations and extensive wish list present a pretty big challenge for the Property Brothers.

Entryway, Before

The cramped and boring entryway left the homeowners feeling already unconvinced and dissatisfied with their new house.

Entryway, After

After knocking down walls, the entryway was instantly improved. Then the Property Brothers upped the cool-factor of the space with a blue-trimmed, distressed china cabinet and a vintage wooden crate.

Living Room, Before

Before the walls came down, the living room was small and closed off from the rest of the house.

Living Room, After

Two fewer walls and one fresh coat of white paint equaled a major improvement to the living room. The large arching floor lamp also creates the illusion of extra space, by drawing the eye upward and giving height to the design. Plus it perfectly casts light over the natural wood coffee table.

Living Room, Before

Despite the great natural light from the front windows, the domineering dark-wood fireplace weighed down the living room.

Living Room, After

The new all-white fireplace blends in with the walls, brightening up the room and allowing the eclectic furniture and accessories to shine.

Modern Couch

This midcentury modern, tufted charcoal gray sectional is a bold statement when paired with these crisp white walls. Metallic pillows add a pop of pizzaz, while the floating white shelves behind the couch offer a place to display pictures and trinkets.

Eclectic Elegance

The Property Brothers gave this room a distinctly eclectic feel by punctuating the space with an array of fun accessories, like this rustic metal letter paired with vibrant purple tulips.

Shoe Shine

Not only do these fun ottomans offer a place for the homeowners to prop up their feet, but the iridescent silver upholstery offers another punch of eclectic charm.

Sharp Chairs

Two midcentury modern chairs sit low on either side of the fireplace, offering extra seating and creating a layout fit for entertaining.

Wood Floor Meets Shag Rug

This white shag rug perfectly balances the warm hardwood floors, and adds a touch of contrasting texture to the room.

Kitchen, Before

The kitchen in the Bliss and Jaeme's new abode was in even worse shape than the living room. The dated flooring and appliances were begging for an upgrade.

Kitchen, After

Now the kitchen is barely recognizable. The new space feels incredibly open thanks to bright white cabinets and marble countertop.

Variety of Lights

A mix and match of metal pendant lights hang over the kitchen island, serving as extra lighting as well as a work of art.

Sleek New Appliances

The brand new stainless steel appliances, like this oven, are especially striking next to the pristine white cabinetry and countertops.

Cooking Up a Beautiful Design

Drew sits back and admires how he transformed this dated kitchen into a modern masterpiece.

Warm Floors

The natural-colored hardwood flooring is carried throughout the kitchen as well as the dining and living rooms, creating a cohesive flow throughout the home.

Kitchen, Before

Before, the kitchen was lacking any promise of a livable design, leaving the homeowners feeling discouraged.

Kitchen, After

But once the Property Brothers had the chance to work their magic, this room became a fully functional dream kitchen. They even installed this unique and useful island, in which the white marble countertop waterfalls to either side of the lengthy structure.

Sleek Sink

Jonathon and Drew made sure this kitchen island was making the most of every square inch, by installing features like this subtle yet stylish sink.

Modern Barstools

These white and metallic bar stools offer ample room for eating at the kitchen island for breakfast or entertaining guests at a party.

Say Cheese!

Jonathan is all smiles after completing this impressive kitchen renovation, certain it will check all of Bliss' boxes.

Eager for the Reveal

Jonathan and Drew can't wait to reveal the entire redesign to the homeowners.

Dining Room, Before

The last room in the house that was in desperate need of a reno was the dining room. It was also the first room to be revealed to the homeowners...

Dining Room, After

Now, the dining room is simple, tasteful, and even satisfies Bliss' specific wishes.

Bright Idea

The Property Brothers replaced the old tacky chandelier with this sleek, modern exposed-bulb light fixture.

Floral Centerpiece

The natural wood dining room table is decorated with three galvanized metal planters, filled with beautiful white tulips.

Stylish Seating

Keeping with the eclectic, unconventional feel of the home's design, the Property Brothers placed white metal chairs on one side of the table, while a wood bench offers seating on the other side.

Impossible, Achieved

Despite concern over Bliss' seemingly unachievable expectations, the Property Brothers were able to hit everything on her wish list and create a dreamy home the entire family can enjoy.
