The closet was removed and custom-built lockers were installed to keep the kids' sports gear organized, as seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, Too.

Basement Family Room with Chalk Paint for Creativity

As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, the Jowett family's basement gets a huge redesign. The use of white pickets in the staircase echoes the open feeling; contrasted by black chalk paint, adding a dynamic architectural detail to the room. Black chalk paint is repeated on the doors of the utility closet giving the kids loads of room for creativity.

Living/Dining Room

This newly renovated living room use to have an old non-functioning fireplace that has been replace with a large wall organizer and an electric fire screen. Updated wall colors, a modern couch with ottoman, and new lighting create a new living space. The wall dividing the living room and the hallway has been partially opened, as well as the archway between the living and dining rooms, creating a more open flow to the first floor.

Detail Shot in the Front Entrance

As seen on HGV's Love It or List It, this image shows a detail of the renovated living room and front entrance.

Bright, Colorful Dining Room

As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, a detail of the dining room table and decor.

Serene Bedroom With Blue Accents

Designer Jillian Harris had the closet torn out and installed a decorative headboard to turn the unorganized basement into a relaxing master suite complete with calming accent lights and a new hardwood floor, as seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, Too.

Neutral Living Room with Blue Accents

Hilary's design for this Love It or List It homeowner blends neutral colors with calming blue accents to create a serene gathering place for the family and guests. The neutral cabinets framing the television provide tons of extra storage space for the family, while the blue rug and other accents add bits of color throughout the space.

Kitchen with Confining Wall Removed

As seen on HGV's Love It or List It, the new kitchen island in what used to be the dining room, and the wall between the two rooms has been demolished to expand the feel of the spaces and add functionality and flow to the space.

Large Kitchen Island

This kitchen has been reconfigured to take advantage of the new open concept floor plan. A large kitchen island provides more counter space, as well as doubles as a kitchen table with stools running underneath. The sliding door was reduced to a sink under the window, allowing the galley kitchen to run along the whole wall. Stainless steel appliances, pendant and recessed lighting, and a neutral color scheme create a clean modern look to the kitchen. New flooring was added throughout the whole first floor.
