10 Things We Love About Hilary Farr Jun 26, 2017

Love It or List It’s design maven has as much personality as the spaces she reimagines...and then some (and then some more, and then some more).

Fabulous Modern Living Room

As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, the home's open floorplan shows the living room, kitchen and portion of the dining room from the hallway leading to the bedrooms.

Fresh Child's Bedroom

As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, the second floor child's bedroom remains the same size and location, with the exception of enlarging the small closet, doubling its depth. The walls, floors, furniture and room accessories were all freshly updated.

Open Living Room

As seen on HGV's Love It or List It, the renovated living room has had the wall removed that used to cut it off from the rest of the house. Now, the living room flows comfortably into the rest of the house.

Dining Room with Shelving and a Stone Focal Wall

As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, the Jowett family's multi-purpose, open concept dining room/kitchen combo lacked a focal point. By moving the stairs to the basement, designer Hilary Farr was able to redefine the dining area and create a focal wall with built in shelving.

Transitional Bedroom with Neutral Color Palette

In this transitional design, Hilary, from HGTV's hit show Love It or List It, expertly blends elements of a traditional room, such as this luxurious four poster bed and dark wood foot stool with leather cushion, with a more contemporary color palette to make this space both elegant and inviting.

Contemporary Master Bedroom with Cathedral Ceilings

This master bedroom has been renovated with a new cathedral ceiling, contemporary wall colors, updated wardrobe closets, and an upholstered headboard for the queen bed. A new two-piece washroom was added in the space of the old in-wall closets, and new closets were added behind double swing doors. New upgraded windows and window treatments allow plenty of natural light into the room and privacy at night.

Modern Open Concept Kitchen

Hilary's design on this open concept kitchen for HGTV's hit show Love It or List It incorporates clean lines and subtle contrast. From the clean, white cabinets to the gray backsplash and countertop, this kitchen uses its neutral colors to give it a tidy feel. The dark bar chair and the soft colors of the napkins and canisters help to soften the stark colors of this neutral kitchen.

Chic Contemporary

Unexpected materials give this bathroom a modern feel. Designer Jillian Harris of Love It or List It, Too pairs a square vessel sink with butcher block countertops. Striped floor tiles ground the space and lead to a large walk-in shower.

Dining Room with Round Table

This new dining room is shown complete with new lighting and floors. The walls from the kitchen and a bedroom have been removed to create an open concept living space. A new railing separates the old entryway from the new dining area.

Colorful Bathroom

As seen on HGTV's Love It or List It, the second story bathroom is very spacious, with two street facing windows allowing in lots of natural light.
