Small Town Life for a Growing Family

A Chicago woman moves her family from the big city to a small town in Mississippi. She's looking for a family-friendly house for her kids and future grandchild with room to entertain and a private oasis for herself. With a comfortable budget, Ben and Erin show her two homes: one with an unwelcoming exterior and an interior that's a bit dated, and another home that's smaller with very little character. Despite the limitations, Ben and Erin overcome their obstacles and wow the family with the home of their dreams.

As seen on Home Town, the Walker's Laurel, MS existing dining room was cold and uninviting was a dark stain on the existing wood floor and a single door in the wall to access the wall paneled kitchen. After the renovations, their dining room now flows right into the large kitchen and features the original hardwood floor refinished, updated furnishings, a custom built white oak buffet table and a custom designed wallpaper wall that host Erin Napier hand drew and sent off to have the wallpaper created for the Walker residence.

After the renovations, Mia Walker's Laurel, MS master bedroom closet now features refinished hardwood floors, a new coat of paint and new furnishings to create a relaxed retreat area for Mia.

Blue Mid-Century Modern Living Room with Custom Art

The living room features the original refinished hardwood floor, new curtains, and blind, updated furnishings and custom art designed by Mia's younger son Bryce. Host Erin Napier said the floors had to be sanded three times to get the old dark stain completely removed to allow the natural color of the wood to show again.
