Season 1, Episode 11

Sign Language Friendly Home

Cheryl decides to handle a bathroom renovation on her own after searching for the right contractor proves harder than it looks. Her family and friends pitch in to help, but even the best intentions can't substitute real expertise. When the truth comes crashing through her ceiling, Cheryl puts a stop to her DIY reno and is left without a working shower for 5 months. Mike comes to her rescue but soon realizes that she needs a lot more than just a shower. Cheryl is deaf but doesn't have a home that is sign-language friendly, which turns this standard bathroom reno into a breakthrough project for Mike and his team.
