Season 1, Episode 4

Final Contenders Design Shipping Container Homes, and the All Stars Winner is Chosen

For their final challenge, the remaining three All Stars must each design the interior and exterior areas of a converted shipping container, part of a popular trend in eco-friendly living. The small interior dimensions of these containers (less than 7' x 20') mean that the designers must come up with smart space-saving solutions, while still creating a beautiful and distinctive space that includes sleeping, dining and sitting areas. The designers have less than two days to complete their transformations. On the morning of the second day, they are surprised with visits from their loved ones, who have flown in to give them some extra motivation. Emotions run high as the designers strive to win and make their loved ones proud. Joining Vern Yip and Genevieve Gorder on the Design Panel is Carter Oosterhouse, star of HGTV's Million Dollar Homes. Host/Mentor David Bromstad also joins the Panel for this very special finale. At Evaluation, the winner is chosen to receive $25,000, a special appearance on an HGTV show, and the right to be called the very first Design Star All Stars champion.
