Rob and Marianne Ward are a retirement-aged couple that have always dreamed of running a guest home, and Chip and Jo are hoping they might be the perfect candidates for the job. Lackluster Fixer Changes to Contemporary Charm for Young Family

Luke and Rachel Whyte are a young couple with a growing baby girl, and they feel it's time to settle into a family-sized house. They're looking for a house with 3-4 bedrooms, and Rachel is hoping for a space that she can make into a playroom/home office. They have an all-in budget of $277,000, which gives them nice flexibility in the Woodway area. The first house they visit Joanna jokingly names the 'Chip House' because its reddish roof and orange-colored bricks remind her of a sunburned Chip on their first date. The Chip house is cute with a nice backyard, but overall it feels small. The next house has a similar red brick exterior to the Chip House, only bigger and slightly newer, so Chip and Joanna call it 'Chip 2.0.' Inside, several areas are totally falling apart and the carpeted master bathroom needs a major overhaul. Their last stop is nicknamed the 'Taj Mahal' for its lofty location at the top of a hill and the ornate furniture they find inside. The view is stunning and the house has a balcony that looks over nearly all of Waco.

Chip and Joanna take their new clients, Noah and Jessica Dansby, on a tour through three homes in Hillsboro, Texas, a small charming city halfway between Dallas and Waco. The Dansby family currently lives in Hillsboro and want to stay, but their house is too small for their three growing sons. Chip and Jo found three houses that could potentially provide the Dansbys with the space and character they're looking for. First they tour the 'Nut House,' a spacious home on an ideal lot, yet it is the epitome of a fixer upper after being on the market for more than two years. Next, they see the Suite House, an abode with ample space in a wonderful neighborhood, but the renovation required is daunting to the Dansbys. Lastly they check out 'Jo's Amazing Technicolor Dream House,' the least spacious of the three homes on the tour, but the most affordable. Rachel likes a rustic feel with a delightful contrast of pops of color. Andrew wants space inside and out to accommodate his towering physique and his passion for the outdoors. Will they pick the stately colonial house with the wagon wheel light fixture, the split-level retro with the strange bathroom or the claustrophobic house loaded with louver doors? The Gaines have their work cut out for them, but Chip keeps it fun finding ways to lighten up Jojo's sometimes serious side - this time clothed in some daring duds.

Even so, Todd and Lexia are taken aback when find their first stop is not a home, but a horse barn! The next house they visit is the "Dilapidated Duo." Making New Family Memories in Rural Texas

For the first time ever on Fixer Upper, the tables are turned for Chip and Joanna. Instead of taking potential homebuyers on a tour of houses, this time it's the clients who are showing them a house. Sterling and Casey Zan inherited a 2,000 acre ranch from Sterling's grandfather, who she affectionately calls "Paw Paw." When he passed away, his house sat abandoned on a beautiful corner of the lot for almost ten years. Sterling has a lot of fond memories of the place, and hopes Chip and Joanna can restore it to its former glory. Chip warns her that the house is in serious disrepair and would need a hefty amount of work. While they have $160,000 in their budget to work with, the list of damage is lengthy and they would have to carefully prioritize fixing up the areas that need it most. Chip also knows of other rural properties in better shape that the Zans might be interested in, but he lets them consider their options before they make a decision.

A Young Couple Hopes for a House with Old World Charm

Jeff and Sara Jones are Baylor sweethearts and newlyweds, returning to Waco to find a house where they can settle down and one day raise a family. Their all-in budget is $235,000 and they're hoping to find a house with three bedrooms, a big kitchen, and a big backyard in the Mountainview area. The first house they visit is the 'Beach House,' aptly named after the brightly painted surf-themed bedroom they find on the tour. Chip and Joanna bring the Joneses to 'The Schoolhouse' next. The Schoolhouse is much bigger and has a beautiful backyard, but is also more expensive, which would mean less flexibility in their renovation budget. Their last option is the 'Red Door House.' While the house isn't in the Mountainview area like they were hoping, Sara and Jeff are impressed by its character and curb appeal.

The first house they visit, Chip names the 'Beanstalk Bungalow' after the large seedpods that dangle from the catalpa tree in front of the house. Next, they tour the 'Doll House.' Very small and quaint, it lives up to its name. Last, they visit the 'Christmas Craftsman,' which Chip and Jo name after the green trim and red accents on the exterior of the house.

School Spirit Spurs Home Search

Baylor University graduates Chip and Joanna Gaines meet with two other Baylor alumni, Lori and Baron Craft, to tour three different houses in Waco. The Crafts live in Houston, but are looking to purchase a second home near the university in hopes that their 12-year-old son will one day live in the house and continue the family's Baylor legacy. With a budget of $160,000, Baron and Lori are looking for a three-bedroom house full of Old Waco character. The first house they visit, the Brick House, has an awkward closed-in porch in front that looks like it belongs in the back of the house. Inside, however, the house has a lot of old character and built-in detail that holds a lot of potential. The next house they tour is the Power House in one of the most historical neighborhoods in Waco. While the house has a lot of vintage charm and a huge backyard, the house would need all new electrical wiring, which means a lot more work. Is the character of the Power House worth the amount of renovation it requires? The Black and White House is the last stop on the Craft's tour. It lacks some of the character of the other two houses, but with beautiful hardwood floors and a cute layout on the inside, Joanna assures the Crafts that their budget is more than enough to transform the space into the house of their dreams. The Crafts face a tough decision: Which house will become their new home away from home?
