Season 7, Episode 9

Multifunctional Attic

Meredith and Michael are both busy medical professionals that lead active lives with their young daughter in their beautiful 1920s home in the middle of a city. They plan to expand their family, so the three-bedroom house will start to feel even smaller, and it also means no more cozy guest quarters for their visiting families. The third-floor attic is a beehive of activity--it's a TV room, playroom and a home office--and while it serves many functions, it doesn't have a lot of style. Designer Candice Olson takes on the challenge of designing a multitasking attic space that isn't a snooze in the style department, but will provide extra sleeping for guests whenever needed.
