Create Centerpiece Base

Run a bead of glue along both ends of the two 7-inch pieces. Place the 7-inch pieces inside vertically on each end of the two 24-inch pieces, creating a long rectangle. Clamp the wood using bar clamps, and let dry for 24 hours. Remove the clamps.

Sand Base

Lightly sand all of corners and edges with a 220-grit sanding block.

Mark Bottle Locations

On the top of the piece, measure horizontally for center and mark with a pencil. Measure for center vertically and make another mark, creating a plus sign. From the plus sign in the center, measure 4” and 8” horizontally in each direction and mark with a pencil. Then, find the center vertically for each mark, creating a total of five plus signs along the top of the piece.

Drill Holes

Using a 1-1/4-inch paddle bit, drill a hole at each plus sign. Lightly sand with a 220-grit sanding block.

Paint Bottles

Tape off five recycled bottles in your desired pattern with painter's tape. Paint the bottles gold, and let dry. Remove tape.

Place Bottles

Fill bottles with water halfway. Insert bottles, sliding the necks through the holes in the top of the wood piece, and fill with your favorite flowers.
