Kendra Wilkinson and Laurie March

Nothing says festive like a dance party! To match The Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson’s bubbly personality, designer Laurie March created an unexpected and one-of-a-kind holiday space by incorporating bright hues and a unique disco theme.

The Big Reveal

“This has Kendra written all over it,” the television personality said upon seeing her revamped living room. “It’s young, it’s fun, it’s crazy, it’s over-the-top. It’s a disco party in here!”

Boogie Wonderland

“I feel like every holiday is better with just the touch of a theme, so because these guys are such a good time, I brought in over 1,000 disco balls,” Laurie says. “There’s going to be so much glitz and glamour – it’s perfect for a Hollywood, Southern California Christmas.”

Non-Traditional Tree

A 10-foot-tall white Christmas tree brightens up the navy blue living room.

Unexpected Color Palette

Rather than a traditional holiday green, Laurie opted for ornaments and wrapping paper in bright chartreuse. “It sets off the navy and has so much energy,” she says.

Life of the Party

Even the 6-foot-tall copper Nutcracker is ready for a dance party: Notice the disco ball hanging from his wrist.

Fancy Mantel

White garland, glittery ornaments and a fun piece of custom artwork dress up the fireplace mantel.

Glam Stockings

Glitzy stockings hang from the garland draped over the mantel.

Ceiling Surprise

“When you have a 13-foot ceiling, sometimes it’s intimidating to think about how to make the space feel more cozy,” Laurie says. To warm up the room, she took copper mylar balloons, secured them together using double-sided tape and covered portions of the white ceiling with them.

Coffee Table Decor

A tray of disco balls in various sizes adds sparkle to the coffee table.

Kendra and the Family

Kendra poses with husband Hank Baskett and 3-year-old son, Hank Baskett IV, in her bold, disco-inspired holiday living room.

Foyer

To tie in the foyer with the living room, Laurie bedecked the banisters with the same white garland used over the fireplace mantel. “I could have done a normal, green garland, but instead I added copper spray paint to the tips of all of our beautiful white garlands,” she says. “It gives it a glow and a sparkle and another warm element.”

Not Your Typical Tree Stand

The foyer’s dramatic Christmas tree sits atop a large disco ball.

Kendra Gets Crafty

Kendra gets involved in the holiday decorating process by helping Laurie make adorable DIY cupcake ornaments. First, they put dots of hot glue into cupcake wrappers and drop in ball-shaped ornaments. Next, they coat the ornaments with glue and sprinkle them with small beads and glitter. Finally, they top them off with small bows.

DIY Cupcake Ornaments

The finished cupcake ornaments add sparkle to the dessert table.

Dessert Table

When a house looks this good, you have to throw a party. Laurie set a dessert table with tiered cakes, blinged-out cake pops and shimmer shots.

Blinged-Out Cake Pops

Studded stems add pizzazz to the shimmery cake pops.

Cheers!
