AFTER: Outside

This new dining set can seat up to eight people for those ultimate summertime Jersey Shore weekends.

A Jersey Shore Makeover

With a renovation budget of $30,000, Pennsylvania couple Jamie and Emily hired Emily's uncle to manage the contract work on their three-bedroom vacation home near the Jersey Shore, focusing their attention on the kitchen, living room and outdoor space.

BEFORE: Open Concept

Though most of the kitchen fixtures and design were great as-is, a wall separating it from the living room made it feel closed off and uninviting.

BEFORE: Support Beams

With that wall coming down, new support beams needed to go up.

BEFORE: Drywall Dilemma

The contractor and his crew found a surprise during demo: two layers of drywall, which meant extra labor and extra money out of the budget.

BEFORE: Outside, In

Despite the house having a sizable patio along the side, the only way to access it was to climb over landscaping from the front entrance. Jamie and Emily decided to add a sliding door and deck from the dining room down to the new patio below.

BEFORE: Decked Out

The new deck space will come from both the dining room sliding door and around from the front entrance.

BEFORE: Patio Improvements

The old landscaping left little to the imagination and gave neighbors and passersby a direct view into Jamie and Emily's party space.

BEFORE: Almost There

Emily couldn't wait to check out the new custom granite countertop being installed with the kitchen island.

AFTER: Granite Glam

The natural stone, granite countertop has hints of sparkle throughout that create a sense of luxury in Jamie and Emily's new kitchen.

AFTER: Kitchen Seating

The previous kitchen counter had little room for guests to sit and chat at the bartop. The new peninsula is perfect for host Emily while she's baking and preparing.

AFTER: Living Room

A fresh coat of paint gives the formerly neutral living space a pop of color for a warm and shore-like vibe.

AFTER: Living Room

The front windows of the home provided great natural light for the living space, both before and after renovations.

AFTER: Living Room

New pieces like this coffee table and fabrics like this rug with bold patterns give this room a vibrant personality.

AFTER: Living Room

With the wall separating the living room from the kitchen gone, the flow of the entire home is much improved.

AFTER: Dining Room

Adding a window on the adjacent wall to the sliding doors continues the flow of natural light throughout the house. And those sliding doors lead out to Jamie and Emily's brand new ...

... deck! There's even room for an intimate dining table for two.

AFTER: Outside

And just below the deck is the totally revamped patio, new pavers, landscaping and all.

AFTER: Outside

Vibrant patterns and shore-like color vibes are continued onto the patio's seating set.

AFTER: Outside

The large sectional and fire pit near the front of the house is a separate relaxation area from the dining area.

AFTER: Outside

Seating galore! A high-top bar set provides yet another space for entertaining in the sun.

Bonus: Lighting along the new deck railing makes for a soothing and relaxing spot after dark.
