Fantastic Florida Makeover

The backyard of this waterfront home went from closed off and lifeless to the perfect space for entertaining friends and family.

Let in the Light

The screened in pool was structurally sound, but it needed a bit of a facelift. The closed off Florida room also wasn’t ideal for sightlines and entertaining in the backyard.

Compromising on Changes

Candice and Bryan saw lots of potential with this property priced at the top of their budget and took a chance by focusing their efforts on renovating the pool area, tearing out the Florida Room and updating the landscaping. Did it pay off?

The Swoon-Worthy Spa

Yep! Aside from retiling the pool and installing gorgeous new aqua glass tile accents along the edge, Candice and Bryan also got their wish for a custom hot tub that spills over into the pool.

Adults Only

The expanded seating area with a fire pit behind the hot tub also provides a space for adult time and allows parents Candice and Bryan a full view of the backyard at all times.

Have a Seat

The new seating set by the hot tub spa is stylish and easy on upkeep.

Hammock for Hangouts

Before, the pool area in the backyard was closed off and didn’t allow for much lounging room. The expanded patio with travertine pavers now provide plenty of space for casual luxuries like a cozy hammock.

The New Florida Room

After discovering the Florida Room’s roof couldn’t be saved, Candice and Bryan opted for caution and started from scratch to build their dream backyard lanai area.

Dinner Party

Bonus: Tearing out the Florida Room and building a custom lanai actually added lots of square footage and a significant footprint to their home.

Pull Up a Chair

There’s no shortage of seating on Candice and Bryan’s new outdoor space.

Table for 6

Aside from the bar-height table for casual lounging, Candice and Bryan have a spacious nine-piece dining set that can easily sit six for family dinners outside.

A Fort for 2

The backyard renovation even allowed for a fun surprise for Candice and Bryan’s two daughters.

The Dock

The dock along the water was structurally sound and only needed a quick refinishing to maintain its rustic look Candice and Bryan liked.

Waterfront Accents

Accents like this floral rug really tie together bonus spaces like this dock along the water.

A Touch of Warmth

An outdoor fireplace provides a touch of style and warmth on those rare chilly nights for the family out on the water.

Rocking and Relaxing

Colorful rocking chairs are the perfect addition to Candice and Bryan’s classic dock hangout spot.
