Red Wine Strawberry Sorbet Recipe
This refreshing after-dinner treat is as sophisticated as it is sweet.
Yield: Serves 6
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, quartered
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup fresh mint
Toss Strawberries in Lemon Juice
Using a knife, quarter the strawberries and place in dish. Then, add 1/4 cup lemon juice and toss together until strawberries are fully coated.
Create Simple Syrup Wine Mixture
In a medium saucepan, stir the red wine with sugar. Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla and continue stirring the mixture over medium heat until the sugar completely dissolves.
Blend Strawberries and Wine Mixture
Add strawberries and simple syrup to a blender, puree the mixture until smooth.
Pour and Freeze Sorbet
Pour mixture into a freezer-safe serving dish, then freeze.
Scoop and Serve
Scoop out into individual dishes and garnish with fresh mint when ready to serve.
