In addition to control and distribution of audio, video, lighting and HVAC, security was a top priority, so the system includes elaborate alarm and surveillance systems.
The estate is located in a rural area with no access to the cable TV providers and marginal cellular reception. To provide for connectivity, three T-1 lines were installed as the primary Internet connection, with wireless ISP providing backup connectivity. An extensive cellular repeater system enhances cellular reception, and DirecTV was incorporated for home entertainment.
The system ultimately installed includes 27 zones of audio with 16 source inputs, 14 zones of distributed HDMI video with 14 source inputs, as well as whole-home lighting control and 67 monitored security zones.
