In addition to control and distribution of audio, video, lighting and HVAC, security was a top priority, so the system includes elaborate alarm and surveillance systems.

The estate is located in a rural area with no access to the cable TV providers and marginal cellular reception. To provide for connectivity, three T-1 lines were installed as the primary Internet connection, with wireless ISP providing backup connectivity. An extensive cellular repeater system enhances cellular reception, and DirecTV was incorporated for home entertainment.
