Real estate expert Brandie Malay arrives to give a critical assessment of the condo's current state. She likes the wonderful downtown location and thinks the exterior of the house is gorgeous, noting a spectacular entryway. Upon entering the home, Malay notices the fantastic vintage detail and rich wood trim. Things change when she gets to the kitchen, though, as she finds it down-right ugly. Next, she checks out the office – great room, but the layout is all wrong and there is too much clutter and personal effects. Malay thinks that the bathroom has the same problem as the kitchen; it's stuck in the 1980s and is distracting from all the home's positive features.
Designer Monica Pedersen agrees with Malay's critique and develops an exciting plan to help this condo go from outdated and cluttered to classy and clean.
Step 1: Update the kitchen to match the rest of the home. Enlarge the peek-a-boo window and add a breakfast bar.
Step 2: Rearrange the office, and declutter the space.
Step 3: Replace the 1980s vanities and countertops in the bathroom.
Carpenters Robert North and Chad Lopez have the know-how and the necessary tools to get the job done.
