Underground Unit Upgrade

Real estate expert Brandie Malay referred to this room as the dungeon. She said that the existing lighting needs to be updated and additional lighting installed. The wallpaper border also needs freshening up — it looks like it is leftover from the 1980s. The greatest feature in the great room is the fireplace, but, it doesn't look so great. The bricks are black and sooty, and the hearth is too short, which means it doesn't meet building codes. In the dining room (not shown), the bulky cabinets are sending a message to potential buyers that there is not enough storage in the kitchen. Also, the dining table is too small, so it makes the room seem out of proportion.
