Staging a House to Sell

Regina and Armando Onate are ready to move with their two boys to a more family-friendly neighborhood, but first they need to sell their old house. They'll need some serious advice from designer Lisa LaPorta and the rest of the Designed to Sell team if they want to get top dollar for their home.

The outside meets with real estate expert Donna Freeman's approval, but inside she finds unnecessary furniture and built-in bookcases and a fireplace that are not being showcased properly. She also sees a selling speed bump in the kitchen. Old-fashioned countertops are overshadowing the updated cabinets, as is the dated tile floor, she says.
