The curb appeal of this house is missing a very important part of its anatomy a clear and defined entryway. The driveway also needs repairs.Ili and Craig Valine are ready to take a crack at selling their home in order to get more space out of a new one. The Designed to Sell team signs on to help them hit a real-estate home run.
Real estate expert Shannon Freeman takes the first swing, providing her candid assessment of this home's selling potential.
She immediately notes that the curb appeal could use work, mostly because of the shabby driveway and unclear entryway. Once inside, she is equally unimpressed, saying that most of the rooms suffer from awkward furniture placement and wasted square footage.
Designer Lisa LaPorta bats next. She agrees with Freeman and outlines a plan to get this house sold in short order. She plans to focus on the exterior, living room and playroom.
Step 1: Make it clear. Define the murky features that might confuse buyers.
Step 2: Get crafty. Find inexpensive ways to create value in unappealing areas.
Step 3: Energize the exterior. Spruce up the curb appeal to snag buyers from the start.
Contractor Jim Collins and carpenter Brad Haviland complete the team lineup. View the results of all their hard work below.
