Yukiko and Chris Puram are moving out of state to pursue new careers, so they need to sell their condo. They enlist the help of the Designed to Sell team to help them get top dollar from the sale to put toward their new place.
The first team member to provide advice is real estate expert Donna Freeman. She is delighted with the view from the outside, noting that everything is well kept and clean, but once inside she has a shift of opinion. She thinks the living room is nice and large but cramped with big pieces of furniture, and the dining room looks like a "children's reading corner in a bookstore." The potential deal maker is the rooftop patio. A little work is all that's needed to make it shine.
Designer Lisa LaPorta weighs in next. She agrees with Freeman and devises a plan to get this place sold. Her focus areas will be the living room, dining room and rooftop patio.
Step 1: Fill 'er up. Add visual interest to areas that buyers will find lacking.
Step 2: Give it a raise. Show off architectural features that elevate values.
Step 3: Stack the deck. Dress up the inside and outside to show the home's best hand.
Carpenters Steve Hanneman and Brooks Utley are on hand to help turn this place into a moneymaker. See the results of everyone's hard work below.
