Moving on to Mexico

Valinda and Gino Cochella are about to fulfill a lifetime dream of moving to Mexico and opening a yoga retreat, but before they can truly relax, they have to sell their house. For the last three years, they've been fixing up their home, but it still leaves a bit to be desired. Enter the Designed to Sell team and their $2,000 budget.

Real estate expert Donna Freeman starts her assessment with the exterior, which she says looks like, "a botanical garden gone bad." Once inside, she approves of the updated kitchen, but says that the dining area could use a little work. She also thinks that buyers will love the den, once they can uncover the fireplace.

Design diva Lisa LaPorta lays out a plan to stretch out that budget and breathe new life into this home. Her focus will be on the curb appeal, dining room and living room.
