Downsizing to a Condo

This master bedroom used to have open storage and a flawed brick wall. Now, light pastel paint warms up the room, with a deeper tone in the nook, beckoning buyers into the sunny seating area.The folding closet doors are repaired, and the space above them is covered with new doors. By carefully blending various shades of paint color, a faux-finish treatment cleverly conceals the unsightly seam in the brick wall.

Before, the small bathroom (not shown) was a jumbled, crowded space with mixed metals and two shower curtains. By selecting just one metal, the room now has a unified and classy look. The new light fixture, medicine cabinet, faucet and hardware all have a stylish brushed-nickel finish. For a more polished look, designer Taniya Nayak replaced the two shower curtains with a plastic liner and a set of sophisticated-looking window treatments.
