Painting Alternating Stripes on a Wall

- paint in two shades of one color (we used purple)
- paint rollers
- tape measure
- painter's tape
Paint the entire wall light purple. Let dry.
Starting from the ceiling, mark off 12-inch-tall horizontal stripes. If your wall height isn’t evenly divisible by 12, adjust the height of your stripes. For example, if your walls are 78 inches, do 13-inch-tall stripes instead.
Tape off the stripes, keeping in mind that the tape should go on the parts you want to stay light purple.
