Chocolate cosmos (Cosmos atrosanguineus) is a spreading, tender perennial with divided leaves and chocolate-scented, dark maroon flowers.It blooms from early summer to fall and grows easily in containers. It's hardy in zones 8 - 10, so bring it indoors for the winter or grow it as an annual if you live in a cooler climate.

Chocolate cosmos (Cosmos atrosanguineus) produces maroon flowers in mid- to late summer that offer a scent of chocolate. This perennial can grow up to 24 inches tall in full sun and moist soil. Consider it for your patio containers and use it to attract butterflies to your garden.
