Organizing a Multipurpose Family Room

The front of the bar gets a coat of warm gray paint to make it stand out more. All the clutter is cleared out from behind and on top of the bar. The kids now use the countertop to color and do arts and crafts. A crown-molding display shelf is hung above the bar to showcase some of the homeowner's keepsakes. In the toy corner (not shown), a new shelving unit with baskets keeps the toys neat and organized. The stuff they don't want the kids to touch, such as art supplies, are kept on the top shelf, and the things the kids can access at any time, like wooden blocks, are stored below.
