Natural medical practitioner Majid Ali offers ways to help restore the body to health after a long night out on the town. He discusses methods of relieving headaches, nausea, dry mouth and more.
Dry Mouth Treatment
Ingredients:
1/2 tsp. dieters (potassium) salt
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 Tbs. sugar
6 oz. water
Preparation:
Drink a mixture of these ingredients to restore electrolytes to the body that it lost to dehydration. (This drink works like a sports drink.) Add a little lemon, lime or orange juice for flavoring.
Headache Tea
Preparation:
Steep a tablespoon of dried rosemary for three to five minutes in boiled water and drink. Drink hourly until your headache goes away.
Upset Stomach Stopper
Ingredients:
1 tsp. powdered vitamin C
1/2 glass sparkling water
1/2 glass pineapple juice
1 tsp. lime juice
pinch of cumin
Preparation:
To cure nausea, drink a mixture of these ingredients.
Notes:
- Avoid sweet drinks and dark liquors during the evening to lessen the hangover the next day.
- When out on the town, try to limit drinks to one an hour and drink plenty of water between alcoholic beverages.
- Before and during a night out, eat plenty of food to help absorb some of the acid from the alcohol.
- Eat bland foods such as cooked cereal the morning after a night out to help restore blood-sugar levels.
