  • To tease hair, grab a small section of hair and work it with a comb, toward the scalp (figure A).

  • To create a French roll, tuck the hair under itself and secure by crisscrossing bobby pins. Secure with a hair pin or clip (figure B). Bend one end of a hair pin down part of way and insert into the roll. This bent portion will lock the pin in place.

  • Don't be afraid to be adventurous with your hair. Twist pieces of hair and secure with hair clips and/or bobby pins (figure C) to create a whimsical look.

  • After twisting portions of hair, secure the remaining pieces with hair chopsticks. This creates a messy, but very modern look.
