  • Before watering a hanging plant, place a shower cap over the bottom to catch drips (figure C).

  • Weave ribbon through berry baskets and fill with candy (figure D). These carriers are great for the holiday season when hostess gifts are frequently needed.

  • Pull an old pair of nylon hose over a small fan to prevent small fingers or pets from reaching into it (figure E). Tie a knot in the nylons where the excess begins and then cut off excess. Use the remaining piece of nylon as a bungee cord.

  • Pour boiling water into muffin tin cups and use to warm up baby food jars or small baby bottles (figure F). Let them item sit in the water for about five minutes, and it should be good to go.

  • Use a pizza cutter for cutting brownies or other bars into squares (figure G).

  • Make a child-size paint smock out of an old pillowcase. Just cut a hole for the head at the top of the case and two arm holes on the sides.

  • Cut a plastic lid in half and use as a scraper (figure H). This works especially well for removing stuck-on dough from a mixing bowl.

  • Clean out an empty milk carton and refill with pancake batter (figure I). Store for up to a week in the refrigerator.
