Basement Bedroom for Two

Creating a room theme is all in the details. Check out a couple of the sports-related furniture pieces and accessories.

Kyle's dresser houses clothing and doubles as a TV stand.

This new closet unit holds all of the boys' things and still provides separate sections for each. There are drawers for shirts and undergarments and open cubbies for frequently worn clothing. Bulky items are stored out of way on the top shelf, along with turtlenecks that are grouped in see-through bins. Taylor color-coordinated the coat hangers — white for Khristian and blue for Kyle — and the shirts are sorted by color, too.

Stripes were painted on this wall to make the space look wider, and track lighting replaces the old fixtures in an effort pull the white out of the wall and brighten the room. These two convertible sleepers enable each to have his own bed.

Both boys and their mom are thrilled with the results! They got some much-needed privacy, and their mom got a functional organized room. The boys promise to do their best to keep the room in order. Mission complete!
