Paint and molding are used to give the illusion of a vaulted or tiered ceiling. Different shades of beige are painted on the ceiling in proportionally-sized rectangles with the darkest shade in the middle. Molding is then used to border each color. The gradient colors combined with the molding create an illusion of depth and height.
