Contemporary Classic Living Room

This disjointed living room lacks focus-there's just too much going on for one space. Fireplaces should typically be the focal point of a room, but this off-center one gets lost despite its bright red color. The TV hanging above it weighs down the small wall and makes that corner of the room look crowded. And while the dark coffee table, side table and leather settee have a very classic, traditional look, the lamp behind the settee is much more modern, standing out in a bad way. In short, this living room is in serious need of cohesion.
