Stephen and Traci Baracsi have put down roots in the town of Ashland, Mass., a slice of small town life a half hour's drive from Boston. They long to bring in an island feel into their landscaping, unfortunately, the backyard's design lacks function and flair. The couple is ready to see how a designer can transform their plain, open space into an inviting retreat.

The Barascis recently finished working on the inside of their home. The decorative touches reflect the couple's love of entertaining as well as Traci's Hawaiian background. In fact, she longs to bring the island feel into their landscaping. Unfortunately, the backyard is far from the tropical oasis they envision.
