Every April, the trees wrap Knoxville, Tennessee in lacy clouds of pink and white, and winter becomes a distant memory. In this city, the dogwood is nearly sacred; homeowners usually opt for several, if possible. And in certain areas, designated "Dogwood Trails" lead motorists and strollers through fairylands of dogwood blossoms.
