Dove Tree

The elegant dove tree (also known as the handkerchief tree) is named for the conspicuous white leaves that surround the small flower heads in spring; ridged inedible fruits hang from long stalks in the fall. This fine focal tree, which grows to 50 feet tall and 30 feet wide, is deciduous, with sharp-pointed, red-stalked leaves and smooth gray bark. Ideal growing conditions are full or partial sun, and well-drained or moist soil.
