Soft green wall paint and warm-colored curtains create an air of coziness and help with the transition from outdoors to indoors. The curtains, hung high over the windows to make the room appear larger, also keep the bright sunlight at bay a bit. The wax ceiling treatment lightens the room and highlights the architecture of the coved ceiling. The floating shelves (at right) above the doorway free up valuable floor space and are used to house the homeowners' African keepsakes and statues.
