Landscape Redo: From Barren Concrete to Lush Green Lawn

Brian and Amy Cloughley's backyard is full of concrete and very uninviting. On the inside and frontyard, this 1920s home has some style, but the backyard is nothing but cold hard concrete. With three young boys, the huge slab of concrete causes a lot of skinned knees, and they don't know what to do with the large blue wall. Landscape designer Melissa Kellogg highlights the strengths of the small size by making it more personalized and private. She creates a secret space with a new enclosed garden entrance, flagstone patio, portable sandbox and lush plants.
