It's time to say farewell to fall and hello to the holidays. It's easy to decorate your door with a beautiful holiday wreath.
Materials
circular wire frame (or you can use wire coat hangers formed into a circle) (figure A)
artificial garland or greenery cut from the garden
paddle wire
wire cutters
embellishments, such as ornaments, beaded garland and ribbonFirst, attach the paddle wire to the wire frame (figure B). Leave the paddle wire on the spool; it's easier to work with. Then attach one end of your garland to the wire frame with the paddle wire (figure C). Now, position your garland around the wire frame, and secure it by winding the paddle wire around the garland and the wire frame as you go.
When the frame is full, trim off the garland, leaving just a little extra. With a few adjustments and "fluffing" the garland, you can create a full natural shape.
Once the garland is attached, embellish your wreath with a collection of ornaments, beaded garland and ribbon (figure D). You can attach these with small pieces of wire. When you attach the ornaments, rather than using only one, put a couple together (figure E)--it'll have a nice and full effect. String the wire through the bulbs, and secure them to the wreath. Don't forget to add a bow and a wire loop to the back to use as a hanger.
Once the wire hanger is on, the wreath is ready to go on the door to welcome all your holiday guests (figure F)!
