Before: Kory and Karen Jones love the craftsman style of their home and want to continue the look into the front yard. In addition, they want to replace the mossy ground with a more kid-friendly covering.

Before: This old gate and sagging fence make for an uninviting entryway into the front yard.

After: A new wooden gate, stone columns and rebuilt fence combine for a grand entrance to the updated front yard.
Kory and Karen Jones love their 1930s hillside home. Although the couple loves the size and breadth of it, their sloped front yard has been neglected and is in need of repair to make it a safe and welcoming place. They'd love to create a magical play area for their toddler son, Kaleb, and an enchanted entryway into their home.

The Jones chose Elizabeth Low, who focuses her design around a new entry gate framed by stone columns. The once dangerous and narrow brick stairs have been transformed into a beautiful, brick stairway to the house. A subtle mix of flowering plants such as hydrangeas and flowering plum trees complete the garden design. The Jones new front yard is spacious and inviting, yet safe for their toddler to explore and play.
