BeforeBefore
Just over a year and half ago, Jonathan and Monique Kagan bought a rambling house with a large backyard that would be the perfect place to raise their two young boys. When the Kagans moved in, they immediately opened the 1950s-era house up to the outdoors by adding large French doors to the kitchen and living room.
Now these rooms offer a perfect view to their not-so-perfect backyard. For one thing, the backyard has an enormous swimming pool but hardly any usable entertaining space. They need a plan that will give this disorganized swimming area a new streamlined look. Ready to take on the challenge are landscape designer Billy Derian, landscape contractor Kim Martin and landscape architect John Hourian.
