Six months ago, Ben Jealous and Lia Epperson moved into a 1908 Craftsman-style home. With a baby on the way, they want to create a family-friendly backyard. They love the beautiful oak tree in the center of the yard, but it sits in the middle of a dirt and sand-filled lot. Landscape designer Chris Kukula preserves the health and heritage of the oak tree while also establishing more useable space for the family to entertain.
