Contemporary Coastal Backyard

Living close to the ocean, Wendy and Chris Tymoff's rectangular and overgrown backyard tends to get a lot of fog. Landscape designer Matt Buchholz creates a kid-friendly and modern design, making the most out of every corner of the backyard. With a flagstone patio, fountain, arbor and sandbox, he incorporates a coastal-but-contemporary feel in the space.

Three years ago, Chris and Wendy Tymoff moved into their home by the coast. However, their barren backyard lacks the necessities for their young son and old dog. They'd like a space where they can take advantage of the morning sun while incorporating some fun, contemporary features.
