Hide CaptionShow CaptionThis roof deck is a Zen-like retreat with spectacular views.
After looking over the three design plans, Howerton decides to use the expertise of Nancy Scheinholtz, who plans a Zen-like retreat perfect for relaxing or entertaining. She opens up the space with a Brazilian hardwood floor laid in a basket weave pattern. The windscreen of tempered glass panels is held in place by steel clamps, so as not to obstruct the view. A frosted glass wall behind the outdoor kitchen provides separation and privacy from the deck next door, and Howerton can increase the size of the dining table to seat six as well as enjoy stereo speakers built into the wall.
