Animal-Friendly Backyard Oasis

After looking over the three design plans, the homeowners decide to work with Avarie Shevin. She uses a combination of colorful plants, stone and wood to create a lush-looking, but tough, backyard. The new deck is made of ironwood, a natural wood that’s strong, durable and termite resistant. The outdoor fireplace turned into a deluxe element in the design with hand-painted touches along the front. The homeowners' personal touches can be seen throughout the new yard in the hand-painting around the fireplace and decorative pillows and cushions for the seating areas.
