Tara and Craig Rossi recently purchased a charming ranch-style home with an open and airy floor plan. In addition to the home itself, they really love the neighborhood for its real sense of community. Their front yard, however, is in need of improvement--an old circular driveway takes up most of the space and the house faces a busy street. Ultimately, Tara and Craig would like to create a front yard that looks inviting from the street but still gives them a sense of privacy.
Craig and Tara would like to have a front yard design that would give them a better sense of privacy without shutting them off from their neighbors. Up for the challenge are landscape architect Dennis Hickok, landscape architect Scott Zucker, and the husband and wife design team of Sonny and Susan Estrada.
Hickok plans to create an open grassy lawn, a sort of mini estate to be viewed from the breakfast nook. Scott Zucker would build a footpath leading to a special park-like sitting area. Sonny and Susan Estrada propose a design that involves a colorful dry riverbed and a copper fountain.
