Stia finds her inspiration from traditional French Normandy style. She creates more privacy by installing three layers: a level concrete wall, a wooden fence on top of the wall and an internal layer of hedging. She also mixes in the modern with rectangular bands of slate. Hadyn Lazarow proposes to extend the front gate, enclose the entire yard and create more valuable space. He also adds visual and auditory interest by adding a bubbling fountain on the front wall. The fountain would be nestled among pots of Papyrus and Horsetails.
After a week of thoughtful deliberation, Jamie chooses Stia's modern and graphic plan. The design provides Jamie with privacy while keeping a spirit of whimsy and elegance.
Jamie has repainted her home a soft yellow, and her new yard has been transformed into a hidden, whimsical garden. A new wooden fence atop a stacked concrete wall encloses the yard, adding both privacy and elegance.
