BeforeLeslie and Aaron Kahlenberg are huge fans of '50s memorabilia. Their home showcases many of their unique collections but it's not guest-friendly, so when friends come over, the Kahlenbergs would like their backyard to be the primary entertaining space. They'd also like the outdoor space to exhibit some 50s flair. With their first child on the way, the Kahlenbergs are eager to create a wonderful backyard in which to relax, entertain and enjoy nature.
The Kahlenbergs would like to have a tropical backyard that extends the 50s theme of their home's interior to the backyard. They also need a new, uniform and family-friendly patio and pergola where they can dine. The Kahlenbergs really enjoy their retro outdoor table and chairs and hope they can be easily incorporated into the designs. Leslie and Aaron would also love for their dog, Wolfgang, to have his own dog run so that the current lawn has a chance to flourish. The designers up for this retro redo are the design teams Stephanie Bartron and Jill Jones, and Alicia Blas MacDonald and Adam Schiff, and designer Brendan Beirne.
