A pop of orange gives the modern kitchen a playful look.Architect Stephen Kanner brought his ultra-modern style to his most important project, his own family’s kitchen. He and his wife, Cynthia, wanted a warm space for both their children and for entertaining and they achieved that with marble countertops, colorful cabinetry and state-of-the-art appliances.
They also incorporated money-saving tricks into their kitchen like corrugated fiberglass used for sliding cabinet doors and circular finger-pull cutouts on the cabinet doors instead of traditional hardware. Two other fun features are the dumbwaiter that goes down to the basement where they store dry goods and the retractable screen built into the upper cabinet that can shield the kitchen from the dining area.
