Gone is the archway on this side of the room, which made room for the fabulous floor-to-ceiling maple cabinets with glass-faced doors. The three horizontal garage-style doors beneath those are great for hiding smaller appliances and other items. The new peninsula-style, U-shaped island topped with a contemporary new light fixture, maximizes the workspace potential and also doubles as a great space to eat. Laminate wood flooring gives the room a hardwood look for less. A deep red paint color was applied to the wall behind the cabinets to create depth, and new window treatments, a new stainless-steel dishwasher and chocolate quartz countertops top off the look.
